Hello, Glen Jaffe here. I am writing you today about the benefits of Proofpoint email security services. We at San Diego Computer Consulting use Proofpoint email security on every email account that we support for ALL our clients!
Proofpoint is one of the top leaders in email security. Adding Proofpoint to an account redirects email to the Proofpoint security servers where your email is washed before it is ever delivered to Microsoft and eventually to your email account.
Proofpoint starts with the main service of a Quarantine report. The quarantine report is a schedule report that comes in your email with capture spam, junk, and other nefarious emails that it has scored on it own. The captured emails are not delivered your email box. Rather, they are in a quarantine report that looks like the picture below.
The report is very detailed with each message that was captured. It includes the email title, who it is from the subject and the date of delivery. Of course, the important part is the action items that is next to the captured email.
Your options with each email are the following:
-Preview: This allows you to look at the email message without downloading it.
-Release: This allows you to release the message from Proofpoint and have it deliver to your email.
-Release & Approve: This releases the email and whitelists this sender.
-Block: This will block this email from delivering and future emails from this sender.
White and Backlists
Each user can login to their Proofpoint and edit the white and blacklists for their specific email account with Proofpoint. You can choose to white or blacklist for an entire domain or a specific email address. This list will also build out as you approve or block emails from your quarantine report.
Email Queuing:
A basic service of Proofpoint is Email Queuing. All email is sent through Proofpoint before delivering to Office 365 or your Exchange server. If for any reason Microsoft Office 365 or your Exchange servers are unavailable, email will be queued and visible at Proofpoint.
